Life insurance is one of the five most valued benefits employees are offered.
Some 14 per cent of respondents to Aviva's Working Lives Report singled out the option as the most appealing advantage available.
A bonus was chosen by 36 per cent, a pension was preferred by 16 per cent and health insurance was seen as vital by 14 per cent.
Graham Boffey, Aviva's Managing Director of Corporate Benefits, stated: "Companies are increasingly going to need to find relevant and compelling ways to talk to their employees about their savings and benefits options."
Some 53 per cent of workers questioned admitted the biggest concern for them is whether or not their pay will keep up with the cost of living.
It comes after research by Scottish Widows found too many people are neglecting their responsibilities to dependents as some 69 per cent of Scots do not have life insurance, critical illness or income protection in place should the worst happen.
