First Healthcare 6 covers your child for eligible treatment of new conditions that may arise after the policy has started.
Previous medical conditions
For the first two years of membership, your child won’t be covered for treatment of medical conditions (or a number of specific related medical conditions) that they’ve suffered from in the five years immediately before the policy was taken out.
However as long as your child is completely free of any form of treatment or advice for that condition for a consecutive two year period once they join, AXA PPP healthcare will assess the claim, providing the condition / treatment is eligible under the terms and conditions of the policy.
- Prompt access to consultations and diagnostic tests, and prompt access to eligible private medical treatment as long as the treatment is not available within 6 weeks of when the treatment should be undertaken under the NHS.
- No overall yearly limit to the amount that can be claimed.
Parent accommodation fees incurred paid in full for one parent to stay in the same hospital as their child if the child is under 14 years old. So, you’re never far away when they need you.
Premiums will not change mid-year, unless there is a change in the policy (for example, another child is added to the policy).
However, premiums may increase at renewal following their 18th birthday, and future renewals thereafter, due to varying factors including increasing age, inflation in the cost of medical treatment, etc.
You will receive reasonable notice of any changes to the policy and / or premiums prior to renewal.
