Parents eager to save cash on their utility bills must make sure they shop around for the best deal.
That is the advice of money saving expert Martin Lewis, who has urged households to do everything they can to reduce their monthly outgoings on energy by signing a more appropriate contract for their needs.
Mr Lewis – an award-winning TV and radio presenter and bestselling author – explained it is vital to remember that gas and electricity are commodity products insofar as all suppliers provide the exactly the same energy.
"The only thing that changes across different companies is the customer service and the billing," he noted.
Therefore, the specialist insisted that nothing else should dictate what supplier people use.
"Do a comparison and stop being charged for apathy or inertia. It's as simple of that," Mr Lewis added.
Recently, uSwitch revealed that 25 per cent of all families across Britain have received incorrect bills from their energy supplier.
