Eating the right type of food is essential for the health of a person.
Parents should be looking to give their kids the best possible start by teaching them about the importance of consuming produce that has a high nutritional value.
Alison Wyndham, physiotherapist and complementary health practitioner, observed processed food is a big no-no because of the trans-fats and sugar it contains.
As well as this, the heating up procedure destroys the vitamins, enzymes and phytonutrients it has, she added.
Ms Wyndham – who is also owner of The Wyndham Centres in London and Hertfordshire – warned people not to eat white bread, as typically it has over 50 chemical additives.
"Most processed foods are loaded with all kinds of additives like stabilisers, preservatives, artificial colouring and flavouring agents that are foreign chemicals and put an additional load on the body," she observed.
Instead both parents and children should be looking to consume fresh fruit and vegetables, lean red meat and fish every week.
