Kids are more likely to consume the correct food if they see their mums and dads doing so too.
Adults should not be using sugar and salt to make their offspring eat produce, as instead youngsters need to be educated about the benefits of opting for nutritional fare.
According to Biz Community, seeing their parents habitually skip meals, comfort eat and overindulge can all undermine any teachings kids have received about food.
"Eating healthily means eating a balanced diet. This includes a variety of vegetables and fruits, which should constitute at least half a plate," the news provider observed.
Parents also need to understand the fact that kids will not be able to consume their meals as quickly as they can – and so they should be patient with them.
If children eat according to hunger, rather than continuing to indulge, then they will learn to listen to their bodies.
