Parents looking for an ideal destination for an active holiday this summer may be well advised to consider heading to Portugal.
That is if comments made by Filipe Silva, UK director at Turismo de Portugal, are anything to go by, as he believes the European nation is a perfect family-friendly location with something for everyone.
For instance, Mr Silva suggested the Alqueva lake as somewhere families could consider for a vacation, as going there gives them the opportunity to enjoy the "beautiful scenery of Alentejo" by "exploring all of the lake and its water sports".
Alternatively, the official noted that the Zmar Eco Camping Resort and Spa on the largely unpopulated Alenejo coast may also fit the bill, as it offers visitors "different experiences".
"Children can enjoy the ecological interpretation centre or play in the pool all day," he added.
This comes after Bob Atkinson of TravelSupermarket told Female First that holidays can help form lifelong memories for youngsters.
