Children should be taught from a young age how to cook their own food.
Chef Annabel Karmel is an ardent supporter of educating kids about how to prepare healthy and nutritious meals.
"Learning to cook will eventually give your child a healthier life and if you don't teach your child to cook then they will be much more reliant on junk food," she added.
The professional observed if youngsters are allowed to go off to university without any life skills, then they will fall back on processed produce.
She remarked it is also a great way to get kids who are fussy eaters to expand their horizons and try new flavours and textures.
Ms Karmel went on to note the upcoming street parties for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee represent a perfect opportunity for parents to teach their offspring about food.
The best aspect of these events is that it gives children a chance to make something that they can let others taste, which will get them really excited.
