Some 58 per cent of kids have said their dad is better at parking than their mum.
Over 1,000 five to seven-year-olds were asked about family car journeys by the RAC and over 50 per cent admitted that fathers are the best drivers.
When it comes to pet hates, 43 per cent disliked their parents' taste in music, 34 per cent hated it when mum or dad sang along to music and 21 per cent were embarrassed by road rage.
Technology is becoming increasingly popular in the car too, as 32 per cent of little ones use DVDs, iPhones and iPads.
RAC chief marketing officer John Orriss said the research clears up once and for all who children prefer to have in the driving seat.
"We all have fond memories of family car journeys as children and long drives are actually a great opportunity for families to spend time together," he added.
When asked about what size they thought the UK was, 24 per cent responded by saying 27,000 miles and 22 per cent said one billion miles.
