Nearly one-quarter of Britons have never switched any of the 20 most popular financial products.
Research by Gocompare.com has found that not all UK adults are trying to make savings on the cost of their household bills.
This is despite the fact that 23 per cent said they tend to run out of money before the end of the month.
John Miles, Gocompare.com's business development director, said: "Saving money on your household expenses needn't be a chore. Don't accept your insurance renewal quotes or energy tariff changes without checking that the new price is competitive."
He advised people to review their finances at least twice a year to see if there are any better deals available.
The study discovered that 39 per cent of people have never switched their bank account, 25 per cent have yet to move to a different broadband provider and 26 per cent have always used the same mobile phone company.
