Investment and savings was the second most sought after area of advice by consumers in August.
This is according to unbiased.co.uk's Advice Drivers report, which found that 23 per cent of searches were on this topic, while enquiries have remained steady over this issue since December 2011.
Indeed, the sector was only behind personal retirement planning when it came to consulting an independent financial adviser (IFA), as this accounted for 33 per cent of total traffic.
Karen Barrett, Chief Executive of unbiased.co.uk, said that an IFA can help people plan for their own specific circumstances.
She added people will be able to make "better, more informed decisions" about their own future if they consult an expert.
"An IFA will help you review your savings and find out how best to invest in your pension," Ms Barrett stated.
Mortgages (14 per cent), ISAs (11 per cent) and personal stakeholder pensions (11 per cent) rounded out the top five advice areas for August.
