Is there £250 waiting for your baby?
What with the Government’s recent announcement about Child Trust
Funds, you’ll probably want to know if your baby will be eligible
for a Child Trust Fund (CTF) account that you can use to help give
them a financial head-start at 18.
We’ve outlined announced changes below:
- Babies born before 2 August 2010 and you claim
Child Benefit for them by 1 November 2010 - Your baby will
qualify for £250 from the Government to open and kickstart a CTF
account.
- Babies born from 2 August to 31 December
2010 - Your baby will qualify for £50 from the Government
to open and kickstart a CTF account.
- Babies born from 1 January 2011 onwards - Good
news, The Children’s Mutual will have a new product so your baby
won’t miss out - as your baby won’t be entitled to a CTF
account.
