We’ve put together two helpful Pocket Money Guides – one for parents and one for children.
Good news - there’s an extra £250 coming to your
child!
If your child was born on or after 1st September 2002
and holds a Child
Trust Fund account, they'll be eligible for an additional
government contribution of £250* once they turn 7.
This is part of the government’s ongoing
commitment to the Child Trust Fund and will be in addition to the
£1,200 that you and your friends and family can contribute to your
child’s account each year.
We will write to you to let you know when this
money has been received. This will be about 2-3 weeks after their
birthday.
*depending on your household income your
child may be entitled to a further £250 at the end of the tax
year.
